Groupmax Form - Extension Version 2.0 for World Wide Web
You can use Java to create electronic forms in Groupmax. Groupmax Form for World Wide Web and Groupmax Form - Extension for World Wide Web support the facilities for creating electronic forms. The electronic forms created by these applications can be used on the Intranet and can be linked to Workflow, Document manager, and database facilities.
Characteristics of Groupmax Form for World Wide Web
Groupmax Form for World Wide Web links the development environmemts of Java and Groupmax Form. Therefore, Groupmax Form for World Wide Web enables you to create electronic forms that can be executed as Java applets. You can create applets by loading the electronic form created in the development environment for electronic forms into a Java source program. Applets can be executed on a Web browser as it is. In addition, a facility for affixing a seal, a facility for linking to Workflow and Document Manager, and a facility for accessing databases can also be loaded into applets.
Characteristics of Groupmax Form - Extension for World Wide Web
Groupmax Form - Extension for World Wide Web includes the server options that operate on the Web server. Groupmax Form - Extension for World Wide Web can add the following extended facilities to electronic forms that were converted into Java applets by Groupmax Form for World Wide Web.
(1) Facilities for linking to the form-based document
- Registering and updating form-based documents
- Using attached files
(2) Facilities for linking to Workflow
- Entering a work-item (including facilities for specifying the node as the copy destination, specifying the user at the next node, and specifying the role as the distribution destination of the work-items)
- Sending a work-item (including facilities for sending back, consulting about, and transferring the work-item)
- Affixing a seal
- Using attached files
(2) Facilities for linking to databases
- Accessing databases on the ODBC interface by using SQL command
Procedure for creating an electronic form
Creation procedure is explained below:
- Groupmax Form for World Wide Web converts electronic form created by Groupmax Form Client - Design into Java source and HTML file.
- Groupmax Form for World Wide Web compiles the Java source code and then generates Java applets.
- Groupmaxup form supports the linkage facilities for form-based documents, workflows, and databases, using the Java applets and the HTML file.
Facilities that can be defined
You can define the following facilities when you design an electronic form with Groupmax Form for World Wide Web.
- Characters
- Header items, summary items and detail items
- Buttons (check buttons, radio buttons and push buttons)
- Combo boxes
- Graphics
- Seal areas
You can use the definition methods of Java and HTML to define the processings in electronic forms. You can also define the processing for affixing a seal, form processing, work-item processing, document processing, and SQL operation.
