IntroductionHitachi proudly presents the Network Management system for Windows which runs on Windows NT(R) platforms. The core part of this product is "Network Node Manager for Windows NT". Hitachi developed this Windows NT version based on HP OpenView Network Node Manager ( UNIX version). Since December, 1995 Hitachi has been selling this product in Japanese domestic market with other Hitachi's software program products.

SubManager

- To reduce management message traffic, a manager of this product does not
manage each agent directly.
Instead of it, SubManager manages a set of agents and Network Node
Manager checks the MIB data of the SubManager.
- SubManager has a filter to forward trap reports from agent to manager.
A SubManager also has thresholds and reports traps to a manager if the
threshold is crossed.
