Global Network Computing |

As companies are reengineered to keep up with rapid changes, information systems are needed to provide enhanced capabilities that can meet business requirements such as globalization, speed, and quality. Companies need to establish information systems that incorporate, into the core of the system, strategies related to design, development, sales, and logistics. Specifically, quick and careful decision making is needed to speed up business operations and to flexibly respond to changes.
To help users make decisions faster, it is important for an information system to enable a user to obtain information freely whenever and from wherever the user wants. Information must include value-added information (such as multimedia or hypertext information). Information systems must also support decision making from top level managers to workers in the field.
Hitachi has developed a new groupware system that enables companies to set up new information systems that can handle the changes to company structure. The new upgrade version of Groupmax provides new system solutions for key company information stored in systems such as data warehouses. The new system solutions can work with mainframes, Client Server Systems, and Internet and intranet technologies. The system concept is referred to as "Global network computing". It provides the infrastructure to work with various information systems to increase available features, and speed up business cycles and processes. It also offers users a total solution as a corporate system.
