Starting in July 1, 1998, Hitachi Ltd, will start shipping Groupmax Version 3 with an additional intranet workflow facility. The additional facility enables you to define, monitor, and analyze the results and progress of work and the workflow from Web browsers.
Hitachi expects the increasing use of groupware because groupware provides digital communication, such as the sharing of mail and document data, and because the laws for saving business documents as digital data will be amended and ratified in the near future.
Furthermore, the financial big bang and deregulation have ushered in an era of mega-competition forcing every company to quickly revise their business processes. Every company plans on upgrading their information system to improve the efficiency of office tasks and apply mobile and SOHO solutions.
At Hitachi we started providing Groupmax as a tool for promoting Japanese style BPR (Business Process Reengineering) in December 1994, and have also been shipping the basic facilities of Groupmax Version 3 since January 1998. For this latest version, we have upgraded the basic Mail and Scheduler facilities, and have greatly enhanced the main feature of Groupmax, Workflow, to run fully in an intranet environment. Therefore, Groupmax can assist you in reforming your business process on the intranet. For example, your workflow administrator can define and monitor a workflow and analyze the execution status from a Web browser, and your office manager who uses Workflow can check the status of work items in his or her department from the Web browser. In addition, to meet the increasing demands for mobile and SOHO solutions in the future, a system can be constructed for the practical use of note PCs and mobile PCs such as PERSONA.
To handle the increasing size of data, reduce the workload of the information system department, and to cut TCO, Groupmax provides a cluster system for continuous 24 hour server operation. Groupmax also provides facilities such as automatic backup for improving the reliability, operability, and security of your system.
Our new product will be exhibited in Hitachi's booth at WINDOWS WORLD Expo-Tokyo 98 held from July 1 to July 4, at Makuhari Messe (Japan Convention Center).
