You can easily implement a forum on an intranet since IntraForum uses a Web server and does not need any dedicated client software. All you need for a forum is a Web browser, Microsoft Internet Information Server 4.0 as the Web server and Microsoft SQL Server 6.5 as the database.
Forum: IntraForum

- You can classify forums by purpose.
- The system displays a tree-like list of messages sent to a forum.
- When anyone attempts to make a comment about a message, the system automatically displays the original message.
You can assign your messages any attributes such as Question, Answer, and Conclusion. Selecting attributes that best suit the discussion enables finding target messages with ease. For each forum, administrators can freely specify which attributes they want to assign to messages.
Forums are for: Example of attributes assigned to messages Determining countermeasures Topic, Comment, and Conclusion Panel discussions Theme, Pro comment, and Con comment Information interchanges Question and Answer Questionnaires Questionnaire (Q), Answer, Yes and No Document reviews Point-out, Comment, Answer, and Conclusion
For example, defining the three attributes Topic, Comment, and Conclusion makes it easier for you to understand for which topic the comment was made and whether a discussion had a conclusion.
The system automatically generates tentative minutes according to the attributes of messages. For example, if you are using the attributes Topic, Comment, and Conclusion during a discussion, the system automatically creates tentative minutes by extracting messages with the attributes Topic and Conclusion. Information that the system generates automatically also includes the meeting (forum) name, the dates the meeting was held (for example, from dd1/yy1 to dd2/yy2 generated from the dates of messages), and a list of participants (those who sent messages).
In addition to forum-by-forum or user-by-user statistics about the number of messages, you can also obtain the statistics for each participant about the messages that contained specified character strings. For example, you can display the users who registered messages containing the term Internet, in descending order of the number of messages the user sent.
