Dedicated : In this mode, the physical devices are exclusively assigned to a single LPAR at a time. The LPAR uses the assigned physical devices exclusively.
To detach or assign the devices from a LPAR, the LPAR needs to be shut down in advance.

Shared : In this mode, the physical devices can be assigned to multiple LPARs. The LPARs can share the device by time sharing.

If Hitachi 16Gb FC card, 30 LPARs can be assigned to one FC port.
