Integrated Desktop enables users to customize their working environments. You can register frequently used Windows applications as buttons on the toolbar so that it becomes easier to start these applications.



You can register frequently used Windows applications such as Word and Excel or files in the following ways:
Registering an application on the toolbar makes it easier to start without switching windows.

Registering an application as a button on the toolbar
You can register buttons in the function-oriented, business-oriented, or virtual office environment. To register a button on the toolbar:Function-oriented environment
  1. Choose View, and then Toolbar.
    The Set Toolbar dialog box is displayed.

  2. Select For users from the list box of the toolbar list.

  3. Choose the Details button.
    The Details of Toolbar dialog box is displayed.

  4. Choose the New button.
    The Details of Button dialog box is displayed.

  5. Specify the file and image to be registered, and then choose the OK button.
Function-oriented GUI (small)
Registering an application as an icon in a workplace
You can register applications and documents as icons in the business-oriented environment. Business-oriented environment
To register an icon in a workplace:
  1. Choose Tools, and then Edit Mode to ensure that the environment is in the edit mode.

  2. Choose File, and then Register.
    The Register Icons dialog box is displayed.

  3. In the dialog box, specify the icon and application to be registered, and choose the OK button.
    The registered icon is displayed in the workplace.
Business-oriented GUI (small)
Displaying an application as an illustration of the office supplies
You can register applications as illustrations in the virtual office environment.Virtual office environment
Groupmax applications and other applications are represented pictorially in an illustration of an office. You can start these applications by manipulating pictures called metaphors that represent stationary or other familiar office supplies on the desk. Each metaphor is surrounded by a dotted line in the virtual office environment. To add a new metaphor:
  1. Choose Tools, and then Edit Mode to ensure that the environment is in the edit mode.

  2. Click and drag the picture that you want to add as the metaphor in the main window.
    The Set Metaphor dialog box is displayed.

  3. Specify the application to be started, and choose the OK button.
    The picture (area) selected in Step 2 is defined as the new metaphor.
