On August 17, 2011, CA Technical Support released "CA20110809-01 : CA ARCserve D2D security announcement" (in Japanese) concerning a vulnerability in CA ARCserve D2D.
An attack by a malicious remote user can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code.

The following vulnerability was found in CA ARCserve Backup r15 for Windows D2D Option Basic Edition and CA ARCserve D2D r15 for Windows Server Standard Edition.

  • An attack by a malicious remote user can exploit this vulnerability to execute arbitrary code on servers on which CA ARCserve D2D is installed.
