Update: October 17, 2008

On April 3, 2008, CA Technical support announced in their "Security Notice for Alert Notification Server (Display new window)" that BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5, BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1, BrightStor ARCserve Backup Release 11, and eTrust Antivirus r7.1 contain a vulnerability. Malicious remote users can exploit this vulnerability and execute any code they wish.

The following vulnerability was found in BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5, BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1, BrightStor ARCserve Backup Release 11, and eTrust Antivirus r7.1:

  • Malicious remote users can execute any code they wish on servers where BrightStor ARCserve Backup products or eTrust Antivirus r7.1 are installed.
