When a reverse proxy function of Hitachi Web Server receives an invalid response from a remote backend server,
Hitachi Web Server processes or threads might stop abnormally.
This problem might occur if a malicious user attacks from a remote backend server.
However, the vulnerability does not allow such a user to execute code.
- Note about Unix:

In Unix, Hitachi Web Server includes multiple processes. Even if one process is stopped abnormally by a malicious attack,
the services of the Web server are not denied because the other processes are not affected.
- Note about Windows:
-
In Windows, if even one thread of Hitachi Web Server is stopped abnormally by a malicious attack,
all server processes stop abnormally, and then the services of the Web server stop.
However, these services are only denied temporarily because server processes are restarted automatically.
This problem can occur if your system uses the reverse proxy function of Hitachi Web Server.
