Vulnerabilities of BrightStor ARCserve Backup (Security Update 6 Mediasvr)

On April 24, 2007, CA announced on their Security Notice for CA ARCserve Backup Media Server (Display new window) that BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5, BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1, BrightStor ARCserve Backup Release 11, and BrightStor ARCserve Backup v9 are vulnerable. Malicious remote users can exploit this vulnerability and execute arbitrary code.

Vulnerability description

The following vulnerabilities were found in BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.5, BrightStor ARCserve Backup r11.1, BrightStor ARCserve Backup Release 11, and BrightStor ARCserve Backup v9:

  • Malicious remote users can exploit the vulnerability and execute arbitrary code on backup servers where BrightStor ARCserve Backup products are installed.
