Inventory information, including information on the installed hardware and software of client PCs, is managed by a central server. When the inventory information on a client PC is updated, the management server information automatically reflects the updated status.
The installation of specified unauthorized software, such as communication packages or games, can be monitored and their activation restricted. It is also possible to prevent printing and the use of external media. Alternatively, only registered applications authorized for business use can be allowed and all other unauthorized software usage prevented.
Logs of user file operations, access to websites, printing, and operations on removable media can be acquired. The sequence of file operations can be visually traced in actual images of each operation
Software, updates and patches are distributed from a central server and automatically installed on client PCs. Efficient distribution of Microsoft patches is possible, for example, by packaging the patches to target specific Windows® operating system or application versions.
Remote clients can be accessed from a local machine to provide rapid response to problems at a remote site. Unauthorized access is prevented by specifying the machines and operators allowed to make remote connections.
