The First China (Shenzhen) Financial Technology and Background Support Development Forum, approved by the Shenzhen municipal government and hosted by the Shenzhen City Information Technology Association, was held at the Wu Zhou Hotel Shenzhen on November 28, 2009. Hitachi Information Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (HISS) co-sponsored and participated in this forum.
In May 2009, the State Council of China approved a comprehensive reform proposal submitted by the Shenzhen government. This proposal calls for financial background service centers to be constructed in the comprehensive pilot district for financial innovation, as well as across Asian districts. Against the backdrop of the harsh business conditions that have continued since the 2008 financial crisis, the Shenzhen government provided a forum dealing with both opportunities and challenges, with the chief focus being "financial background strategy planning and the role of the CIO in the midst of the current financial crisis". The forum was divided into two sessions: a themed discussion held in the morning, and a round-table discussion in the afternoon.

A total of 203 IT specialists and CIOs for financial information construction from the USA, Japan, Beijing, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen participated in the discussions held at the forum. For the lecture session that took place during the themed discussion held in the morning, Pengyu of the HISS Shenzhen Branch delivered a lecture titled "Analyzing the New Principle for Background Data Processing in the Financial Industry". His outstanding lecture was extremely well received by many of those in attendance, and helped to encourage a number of participants to later visit the JP1 exhibition booth set up in the hotel. Those that came to the booth asked HISS representatives numerous questions about a range of issues, such as risk prevention, cost reduction, efficiency improvement, and rule management.
The round-table discussion held in the afternoon focused on the important issues facing the development of the financial industry in China. A total of 60 industry specialists took part in this session, in which they intensely debated a number of pressing topics, such as outsourcing services, identifying and preventing IT risks, IT-related procurement strategies in the midst of the current financial crisis, and the capabilities of the financial CIO.
This is the first time HISS Shenzhen has participated in a conference such as this in South China. Looking towards the future, HISS Shenzhen will continue to pursue every possible means to further expand the financial market in China.
