Hitachi Information Systems (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. (HISS) participated as a sponsor company at the "2009 Sino-American CIO Summit", one of the largest exhibitions in the software industry. The summit was held at the Traders Upper East Hotel in Beijing on October 24.
Due to tough financial circumstances, many companies have been forced to reduce their operational costs. To do this, companies have relied upon their IT systems to integrate and analyze their operational information, identify problems, and lower their operational costs. As a result, Chief Information Officers (CIO) are facing the problem of how to extract new value from their IT systems.
Given these circumstances, the Sino-American Summit focused on the theme of "Opportunity, Development, and Profit: Realizing the Value of IT". The summit was divided into four separate sessions: Healthcare, Finance, Manufacturing, and Cloud Computing. With the aim of boosting the level of corporate management, each session highlighted a number of successful industry case studies to present a variety of different IT systems.

Separate discussions held at the summit focused on each subject. These four subjects were derived from the central theme of the summit and reflected the current condition of each industry. In particular, the Manufacturing and Finance sessions presented their own original themes of "IT Integration and Streamlining" and "Improved IT Management and Minimum Operational Risks", respectively, and discussed the need for internal corporate controls and new missions for IT innovation and optimization. These two sessions also presented real examples of constructing IT infrastructure and virtualization environments and introduced measures for operational cost reductions and IT risk management. These discussions left a profound influence on the philosophy underlying the establishment of secure information systems.
About 400 visitors, including 240 CIOs, attended the summit. At the HISS JP1 booth, HISS's technical experts explained the automated information management functions of JP1 to visitors representing a number of industries, thus helping to further expand the brand recognition and the prestige of JP1.
