The 6th Annual Meeting for the National Development Informatization Strategy of the Chinese Insurance Industry was held on July 30th in Changsha, Hunan, under the head sponsorship of one of the leading Chinese financial magazine publishers, New Finance (Xin Jin Rong). Representatives of major insurance companies from all over China attended the meeting (32 companies in attendance companies/10 exhibiting companies).

At this forum, IT vendors and major insurance companies intensely discussed a number of important issues the industry faces during the current financial crisis. The issues discussed included the progression of informatization in the insurance industry, finding new businesses for insurance services, IT management, and the deregulation of business. In particular, CIOs from over thirty insurers received a lot of attention for their efforts to enact "internal compliance", improve "business security", and "construct IT systems".
Recently, the insurance industry in China has been rapidly growing. This rapid growth has forced the industry to consider a number of issues, such as the information system best suited for business innovation, IT department business methods for finding new businesses, and major problems confronting the insurance industry. Hitachi JP1 set up an exhibition booth at the forum to accommodate customers and introduce total solutions, providing examples of their successful implementation in the insurance industry.
From now and into the future, in order for Hitachi JP1 to effectively operate, the optimum system design and setup are essential. Utilizing the wealth of experience we have gained overseas, JP1 will continue to contribute to field of system administration in the insurance industry.
