uCosminexus Service Platform

uCosminexus Service Platform is an SOA platform, based on open specification, implemented on a highly reliable application execution platform. It supports BPEL*1-compliant business process control, and Enterprise Service Bus (ESB) which has a flexible service integration functionality.

*1
BPEL is an abbreviation for Business Process Execution Language, a language for specifying procedures in which multiple Web services are called in order, as a business sequence.

uCosminexus Service Platform combines and executes services, and it is at the core of SOA. It includes control of business processes, which define the order of service execution, messaging to connect services, and conversion of data to compensate for the differences in data formats between services.

uCosminexus Service Platform enables building a system that can adapt quickly to business strategy changes by combining services. For example, services running on legacy systems and/or services being provided by a third party can be utilized to build a system. Not only does this allow for rapid system integration, but it also ensures reliability by using proven services.

Flexible service integration functionality

In addition to Web services integration through SOAP and WS-Reliability, EJB integration through RMI-IIOP, the product enables relational database integration without the need to develop special applications. Optional products are also provided to allow seamless connections to mainframes and OpenTP1 systems.

These functionalities and adapters can be used to flexibly construct systems.

Flexible service integration functionality

Utilization of execution trail data

Response times and user messages during business process execution can be obtained in a trail. This not only facilitates troubleshooting such as the identification of error during failure, but also allows statistical data to be obtained, to help assess and improve service levels.

uCosminexus Service Architect

Cosminexus provides Eclipse plug-ins to realize an integrated environment to help system development and system operation based on SOA. uCosminexus Service Architect is the development environment and enables business process definition and service adapter definition for connecting existing services such as RDBs, EJBs, and Web services via adapters.

Also, data conversion of messages can be defined using an intuitive GUI.

Once deployment is performed from the definition created on the development environment to a physical system, the operation environment GUI can be used to start, stop, and monitor the performance of each service, and manage business process execution trail.

A development / operation environment that is unified from business processes to service connections

  • Business processes can be defined using a BPMN*2-based intuitive GUI.
  • Existing assets such as RDBs, EJBs, and Web services can be connected via adapters, to be reused as services.
  • The structures and values for messages used in business processes can be converted using the data conversion definition GUI.
  • Business processes and adapters can be started and stopped, and their statuses can be monitored.
  • Business process execution trail can be managed.
