To strongly support this information society, we offer open middleware platform software providing enhanced reliability, leading-edge technology, and increased business value to customers. At the same time, we build and support real systems that integrate these values.
We concentrate development on IT-system platform-supporting middleware products, such as, starting with Job Management Partner 1, an integrated systems management product that inherits management technologies from main frame computers and claims top share in the Japanese market, Cosminexus that enables users to develop and run highly reliable Web application servers by implementing on-line transaction processing technologies that we developed for various social infrastructures such as train reservation systems and cash deposit systems, HiRDB, a high performance, highly reliable database with outstanding fault tolerance, due to functions such as a failover function that is on the same level as the fastest in the industry, and scalability, as well as data warehouse products, knowledge management products, and groupware products. Furthermore, working in conjunction with Hitachi Storage Systems, Hitachi storage management software helps you consolidate data storage, maintain high levels of information availability and optimize application performance while improving IT staff productivity through the automation of management and maintenance tasks.
We also take advantage of our long experience in developing highly reliable and high-performance middleware for IT systems to develop software for embedded systems, our way of helping to bring about the ubiquitous information society. One such example is HiRDB Embedded Database Entier, a highly functional, high-speed relational database with a small footprint for an embedded system, that provides development and runtime environments as a best data management infrastructure for information-processing equipment and control-processing equipment.
We develop platform software that maximizes hardware performance to support our clients' mission critical systems. With operating systems that support mainframe computers and servers, we strongly support non-stop operation and globalization of core businesses and the acceleration of business operations.
We are always working to develop architectures that comply with the latest international standards and incorporating the standards into our products in a timely manner, so that our clients have access to the latest technologies that enable them to expand their business while making the most of their IT assets.
We are actively taking part in standardization activities to develop competitive products that comply with international standards. We participate in various development activities, mainly through communities such as the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF) in the management field and the Organization for the Advancement of Structured Information Standards (OASIS) in the Web services and XML technologies fields, with an intention to incorporate the achievements into our products in a timely manner in the future.
In addition, we are committed to the creation and continuous expansion of open source software, by aiming to promote the use of Linux and open source software in enterprise systems, and passing our advanced software technology that we have developed over a long period of time on to the open source community.
