Provide EV charge control system for EV rent-a-car

Summary

EV introduction into rent-a-car for tourists is promoted in Okinawa Prefecture (service started on 2/1/2011); AEC Inc. Built the infrustructure of the charge for EV rent-a-car. AEC adopted EV charge control system of Hitachi for rapid/medium speed charger equipping plan which Okinawa Prefecture is promoting for EV popularization.

Approach

• AEC has a plan to install 50 carging equipments for EV rent-a-car in main island of Okinawa Prefecture within the next 3 years.
• Since EV rent-a-car which finises its role is expected to be offerred to the public, the placement of charging equipments will be promoted throughout the main island of Okinawa in the future.
• It is a target to establish Okinawa type EV popularization model led by the private sector which is not seen in other regions.
